Birthday portrait sessions are one of my favorite ways to capture kids exactly as they are at this moment—their personality, confidence, silliness, and all the little expressions that change so quickly as they grow.
For this 7th birthday photoshoot in Phoenix, Arizona, we kept the setup simple and let the birthday girl be the star. A warm neutral studio backdrop paired with an oversized gold number seven balloon created a fun, modern look without taking the attention away from her.
And she definitely brought the personality.
A Birthday Session That’s All About Them

Throughout this session we mixed classic portraits with plenty of movement and personality. The oversized 7 became a prop to hug, carry, lean on and play with, giving us completely different expressions throughout the gallery.
The result feels fun and playful now, but these are also the photographs that become priceless as the years pass.
